Ingrid’s cake decorating party

For my daughter’s 10th birthday, I threw a cakes decorating party last Saturday. All girls were to RSVP with their individual cake orders, which went out at the same time the invites were sent. Certificates, aprons and chefhats with individual sayings were made in advance, plastic aprons were provided for the actual cake decorating party. Girls were shown how to pipe different things and also model flowers from soft sweets like starburst and tootsie rolls. Upon completion of their cakes, cloth aprons were handed out ,individual photos were taken of each girl with their cakes and certificates awarded. The official birthdaycake, which was a replica of my daughters apron was cut. The girls had a blast and each had their own cake to take home to share with family or friends. When the parents came to pick up the girls, all cakes were lined up for showing.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, no that isn’t me with  the cake, but the closest and oldest family friend that we have. She flew out from Germany to join in the fun, thank you Rosi. She was the singing chef and even wrote a song especially for Ingrid. We all sang it about 3 times and all girls took home copies of that as well. It was an unforgetable day, four of the girls opted to stay overnight, so it even turned into a sleepover.
